The River Relay is a 27.5 mile trail relay from Boveney near Windsor to Bushy Park in Teddington. Teams of five runners complete consecutive stages before reaching the finish at Bushy Park Sports Club.
The course follows riverside paths and trails beside the Thames, with some sections on minor roads. The five stages range from 4.7 to 6.5 miles, giving each runner a distinct section of the point to point route. Navigation is part of the challenge, with minimal marshalling away from the changeover points.
The event welcomes running clubs, corporate teams and groups of friends, with a mixed team format and runners of different standards taking part. Proceeds from the relay support charities nominated by participating teams, continuing the event's longstanding fundraising tradition.
