The Rip 'n' Run offers 40 Mile and 80 Mile ultra trail races based in the South Pennines above Hebden Bridge. Organised by She Strides, both events challenge runners across rugged Pennine terrain, with the 80 Mile race completing two laps of the 40 Mile course to provide an even greater endurance test.
The routes explore a mixture of moorland trails, woodland paths and upland tracks, with approximately 5,800 feet of climbing on each 40 Mile circuit. Long ascents, exposed hilltops and expansive views combine to create a demanding but rewarding ultra running experience, with the longer distance extending into a second lap for those preparing for 100 Mile events.
The event features fully stocked checkpoints, indoor aid stations, hot food, marshalled support and generous cut off times. Combining challenging Pennine terrain, excellent runner support and a choice of two ultra distances, the Rip 'n' Run has become a distinctive endurance event in the Yorkshire ultra running calendar.
