Phoenix Ignite is the opening event in the Phoenix Manchester Summer Series, taking place at Chorlton Water Park in Manchester. This flexible distance trail event allows runners to choose how far they go during a seven hour timed format, with distances ranging from a single lap through to ultra marathon distance.
The course follows a 5.3K out and back route along the River Mersey, using riverside towpaths and trail paths around Chorlton Water Park. With very little elevation change, the route is largely flat and offers a runnable surface throughout.
Starting from Hardy Farm, the event welcomes runners, walkers and hikers of all abilities. The lap based format allows participants to decide their distance on the day, making it suitable for anything from a first 5K to a marathon or ultra challenge.
