The Penshaw 10K & Half Marathon are organised by Trail Outlaws as part of the Urban Trail Series, with both races exploring the trails around Penshaw Monument and the River Wear.
The 10K follows an undulating and demanding route around Penshaw Monument and the riverside trails, while the Half Marathon extends along the north and south sides of the River Wear, offering extensive views and opportunities to spot local wildlife and wildfowl. Both races feature a memorable finish at Penshaw Monument.
The fully marked and marshalled courses include electronic race timing, online results, feed stations and medical cover. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and race memento, with free digital race photography and event parking also included.
Registration and parking are at Herrington Country Park, which has a children's play area, woodland and trail walks, a café and other facilities, making it a useful base for runners and accompanying families.
