At the Norfolk Festival of Running, you will join like-minded runners taking on a range of distances including 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, and ultra marathon. The event offers a six-hour cut-off for a 9 am start, or a four-hour option for an 11 am start.
A standard heavy half marathon is five laps, with the option to increase to six or seven on the day, while a standard ultra marathon is nine laps, extendable up to twelve depending on time. The event is suitable for all levels, whether you are aiming for your first distance or adding to an existing total, and offers a straightforward format with minimal navigation, no specialist kit required, and an aid station at every lap.
On arrival, you will see the start area from the car park and should proceed to registration to collect your bib number. There is no baggage facility, but you will pass close to the car park each lap, allowing easy access to your belongings. The race headquarters and base camp are located at the start and lap point, where the water and aid station will be set up, and the race director will gather runners at the start.
The course is a trail route consisting of sand, gravel, and grass. Road trainers are generally suitable, although trail shoes may be beneficial depending on conditions.
All finishers will receive a bespoke medal, unless the finisher medal option has been selected. Parking is included in the entry fee, but you must collect a parking code before leaving. Please note that this is a cupless event, so bring your own bottles or cups for refilling.
