The Norfolk Coastal Trail Marathon and Half Marathon follow the Norfolk Coast Path through the exposed and scenic landscape of North Norfolk. The marathon begins at Holme next the Sea, while the half marathon starts at Burnham Overy Staithe, with both routes finishing at Morston.
The mainly off road course follows the waymarked National Trail along the coastline, taking runners through locations including Holkham, Wells next the Sea and Stiffkey. Checkpoints provide refreshments at intervals along the route, while the coastal setting and changing terrain create a rewarding point to point trail challenge.
The coastal setting gives the event a distinctive character, with open views, varied terrain and stretches of exposed coastline throughout the journey to Morston. Both races are licensed by the Trail Running Association, with a bespoke medal waiting for finishers at the end of the route.
