The Newmachar 10K is a hilly road race starting and finishing at Charlie Gordons Park in Newmachar. Almost the entire 10K is run on tarmac, with only short grass sections at the beginning and end of the course.
Runners head out of the village to tackle the climbs of Disblair Hill and Middleton Hill before looping through the surrounding countryside and returning towards Newmachar. The single lap course is well marshalled with signs and distance markers along the route.
The event has strong community involvement, with local volunteers and residents supporting runners around the course. Finishers receive a Newmachar 10K medal and goodie bag after crossing the finish line.
