New Trail Race For Falkirk
A brand new trail 10K for Callendar Park this spring...
The Forthvalley 10K Trail Race is another new event for the Falkirk area. The inaugural event will take place on 24 March in the grounds of the town's scenic Callendar Park.
The new event is being organised by local runner Robert Myler who is has been race director for the Falkirk 8hr Ultra Trail Race for the last seven years and is also club president at Grangemouth Triathlon Club. He says: "I had no involvement with the previous organisers of the Falkirk Half Marathon 2023 and the Epic 10K Trail Race. I'm just a local guy who loves being involved in all things swimming, cycling and running."
The trail race will be the first 10K race organised by Robert's event's company - Everyrunner. Speaking about the additional race, Robert said: "We have loads of experience in running events from ultra races to triathlons and duathlons and wanted to add a fun and enjoyable event for both beginners and seasoned athletes."
All the money raised from the 10K will be put towards organising a brand new Forthvalley Half Marathon which is currently scheduled for 17 November this year.
The 10K will see runners enjoy an undulating route within the stunning grounds of the historic Callendar House. It is an out-and-back race with a few lovely undulation hills within the course with a mix of trail, paths and grass area.
For post race treats there is a coffee shop available within Callander House and the event will also be supported by Coull Beans coffee cart.
