Another New Venue For Muddy Woody 6

Muddy Woody returns for 2026 with new venue and challenging course...

The Wye Valley Brewery Muddy Woody 6 will return on 8 February 2026 with a brand-new venue at Aconbury Court Farm near Hereford. Now in its 27th year, the popular off-road race promises to deliver all the muddy fun and testing trails runners have come to expect alongside a fresh and exciting new course.

Organised by Wye Valley Runners, the Muddy Woody has been a staple of the winter running calendar for more than a quarter of a century. Traditionally held in the local forests, the event has evolved over the years with new routes and venues, while retaining its trademark mix of steep climbs, fast descents and plenty of mud.

Since its inception, the Muddy Woody has earned a loyal following among trail enthusiasts who relish the challenge and camaraderie it inspires. Having been previously held at Haugh Woods and Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum, this year’s move to Aconbury Court Farm marks another exciting chapter for one of Herefordshire’s most iconic races.

This year’s 6.8-mile course will take runners through the scenic surroundings of Aconbury Court offering a combination of forestry tracks and narrow woodland trails. Organisers say: "The course isn't for the faint-hearted but is very runnable for those ready to test their endurance against the undulating Herefordshire terrain."

All entrants will receive a free bespoke Muddy Woody t-shirt as a memento of their efforts. Hot drinks and refreshments will be available at the finish line providing some welcome warmth and comfort after a tough morning on the trails.
