The Everest Marathon is a high altitude trail running event held in the Khumbu region of Nepal, starting near Everest Base Camp and finishing in Namche Bazaar. The course follows rugged mountain trails, glacial terrain and traditional Sherpa routes through the Himalayas beneath Mount Everest.
The event includes Marathon, Half Marathon and ultra marathon distances, with runners passing through remote villages, suspension bridges and alpine landscapes at extreme altitude. Widely regarded as one of the world’s toughest endurance races, the route combines technical off road terrain with dramatic mountain scenery and significant elevation change.
