The Moonlit Meadow Run is a night trail running event in Taunton and the original inspiration for Somerset's Dark Skies Series. Recognised with a double gold award, the event offers runners a choice of 5K and 10K distances on a flat, traffic free course that is suitable for experienced runners chasing a personal best as well as those new to trail running.
Starting close to Taunton town centre, the route takes in Longrun Meadow, Silk Mills and French Weir Park, with the 5K course completed twice for the 10K event. Along the way, runners pass through the distinctive Willow Cathedral and enjoy a unique atmosphere created by running after dark beneath the moon when conditions allow.
Combining accessible trail running with scenic riverside paths and open meadow, the Moonlit Meadow Run offers an enjoyable night running experience in the heart of Somerset and remains one of the county's best known night trail events.
