The Mince Pie 10 Mile is a popular festive running event organised by Seaford Striders, starting from Peacehaven in East Sussex. This established December race welcomes runners of different abilities for a challenging countryside route and a friendly atmosphere ahead of Christmas.
The undulating 10 mile course features approximately six miles of off road running along farm tracks and bridleways, with the remaining four miles on quieter roads. Runners face a testing hill around the six mile mark, while muddy winter conditions add to the challenge. The route is clearly marked and marshalled, with chip timing and a sweeper supporting participants throughout.
Every finisher receives a bespoke medal, mince pie and goody pack, with trophies and Christmas puddings awarded to leading competitors. Combining scenic countryside running with festive rewards, the event is a longstanding favourite in the local running calendar.
