Mince Pi Run is a festive trail running event organised by Wacky Events at Shalford Park in Guildford, Surrey. Inspired by the mathematical constant Pi, the event features a 3.14 mile circuit that runners can complete up to ten times, covering distances from 3.14 to 31.4 miles. A separate Pi marathon option and a 1 mile junior fun run add to the programme.
Runners follow a predominantly flat off road course along scenic waterside paths, with a few hills providing some variety. The flexible lap format allows participants to choose their distance, from a single circuit to an ultra marathon, within the seven hour event window. Some sections beside the water can be uneven or eroded, adding to the trail running challenge.
The event's mathematical theme continues with bespoke Pi Pie medals for participants. Younger runners can take part in the 1 mile fun run, which follows a route shaped like the Pi symbol, while juniors can also tackle the main circuit subject to age based distance limits. The mixture of flexible distances, riverside scenery and playful festive touches gives Mince Pi Run its distinctive character.
