Mells Mash-Up is a scenic but challenging seven-mile race organised by Frome Running Club, starting and finishing in the historic Somerset village of Mells. Formerly known as the Mells Scenic race, it follows a varied, predominantly off-road route towards Great Elm and back.
The course mixes riverside woodland trails, fields, footpaths and bridleways with a converted railway path, cycle path and sections of quiet country lane. There is just over 800ft of climbing, with several hills along the way, while sections can become slippery and muddy in wet conditions.
The course is marked and marshalled, with a finisher's memento for every runner and tea and cakes available afterwards at Race HQ. Mells Mash-Up also forms the opening race of the Wiltshire Off-Road Race League.
