RunThrough Relays Media City is a team road running event based at MediaCity Piazza in Salford. Teams of three compete in mixed, women's or men's categories, racing through the heart of MediaCity in a lively urban setting.
The course uses a flat 2.5K loop through MediaCity, crossing the Millennium Bridge and passing landmarks including the Imperial War Museum and the BBC and ITV studios. The relay format adds a tactical and social element to the race, with teammates completing their sections before handing over to the next runner.
For runners, the flat road course provides an opportunity to run hard over a short distance while competing as part of a team rather than individually. The route is marked and marshalled, with chip timed results, finisher medals and post race goodies forming part of the event experience.
