The Meall a'Bhuachaille Hill Race is a challenging 13K event organised by Highland Hill Runners from Badaguish Outdoor Centre near Aviemore. The course heads from the forest onto the hills of the northern Cairngorms, with approximately 720m of climbing across the route.
Runners climb through forest tracks and hill paths to the 810m summit of Meall a'Bhuachaille before continuing across rough open hillside towards Creagan Gorm and Craiggowrie. Technical paths, exposed hill terrain and a fast, often boggy descent back towards Badaguish create a varied test of hill running ability.
The race forms part of Highland Hill Runners' programme of established hill races in northern Scotland. Its combination of substantial ascent, multiple summits and rugged Cairngorm terrain makes it a demanding event for runners with the experience and fitness required for mountain racing.
