The Maverick Lakes X Trail is a challenging trail running event based in Grasmere, with five distances exploring the rugged fells, valleys and mountain trails of the Lake District.
Runners can choose from 9K, 14K, 25K, marathon and 50K routes, with steep rocky climbs, technical descents and substantial elevation throughout. Longer routes venture towards Easdale Tarn, Stickle Tarn and Great Langdale, while the 50K ultra tackles around 2,858m of ascent and some of the event's toughest mountain terrain.
Starting and finishing in Grasmere, the routes showcase dramatic Lake District scenery across ancient woodland, riverside trails and exposed fell landscapes. Fully marked courses and supported outposts on the longer distances allow runners to focus on the demanding terrain and mountain running experience.
