The route follows the West Mendip Way dropping down into the forests of Roweberrow Warren before climbing up to Black Down heathland (the highest hill in the Mendips!). Those brave enough to take on the Long Route will experience breath taking views from along the top of Cheddar Gorge, stretching out towards Glastonbury and you might even catch a glimpse of the Seven Bridge. Whilst moving through this epic scenery keep an eye out for some of Somerset's rarest and most celebrated wildlife including the herds of feral goats, Soay sheep and Peregrine falcons.
