The Marwell 10K is a distinctive road race starting and finishing within the grounds of Marwell Zoo near Winchester. The event combines a countryside running challenge with the unusual opportunity to race through one of Hampshire's best known attractions, while also supporting Marwell Wildlife and its international conservation work.
Runners follow an undulating 10K route that leaves the zoo and heads into the surrounding Hampshire countryside, including a notable climb towards Owslebury village. The course then returns to Marwell for a final loop through the zoo before the finish, giving runners a memorable conclusion to the race. The varied profile provides a rewarding challenge for experienced runners while remaining accessible to those taking on the distance at their own pace.
The race is organised in partnership with Hedge End Running Club and supported by local community groups and volunteers. Every finisher receives a bespoke wildlife themed medal, while race entry also includes admission to Marwell Zoo after the run, allowing participants to explore the attraction and learn more about the conservation projects supported by the event.
