The Markfield 10K is an undulating road race organised by Beaumont Running Club and based at South Charnwood High School. The event forms part of the Leicestershire Road Running League and is open to eligible members of clubs affiliated to the league.
Runners follow a single lap 10K course through the villages of Markfield and Thornton, with the route passing the picturesque reservoir and taking in the surrounding Leicestershire countryside. The course is fully signed and supported by marshals, with a water station positioned around the 6K point before runners make their way back towards the finish.
The combination of rolling roads, village surroundings and countryside scenery creates a varied challenge for club runners competing over 10K. Race headquarters and facilities are based at the school, with refreshments available after the race and additional water provided at the finish.
