The Longshaw Sheepdog Trials Fell Race is a traditional fell race held alongside Britain's oldest sheepdog trials. Starting and finishing within the Longshaw Sheepdog Trials event, the route explores the Longshaw Estate on a challenging course through the Peak District countryside.
Runners tackle approximately 4.4 miles with around 777ft of climbing, following a route that stays mainly within the Longshaw Estate. Climbs, descents and varied fell terrain provide a testing short distance race, with the event held under Fell Runners Association rules and appropriate kit requirements in place.
Race entry also provides access to the Longshaw Sheepdog Trials, giving the event a distinctive atmosphere beyond the running itself. Spectators can watch from public access areas around much of the route, while the combination of fell running and the historic countryside event makes this a distinctive fixture in the Peak District.
