The Locomotion Trail Runs feature 10 mile and 5 mile routes between Eaglescliffe and Stockton, with sections following the historic Stockton and Darlington Railway corridor. Both distances use the Teesdale Way and pass through Preston Park, creating a mixed terrain running event with strong links to the North East's railway heritage.
Runners taking on the 10 mile route start at Locomotion in Eaglescliffe before heading through Preston Park and along the Teesdale Way to Stockton, then returning to Eaglescliffe. Around seven miles are on tracks and three miles on roads. The 5 mile route starts in Stockton and follows approximately 3.5 miles of track and 1.5 miles of road to the shared finish at Locomotion.
Both distances are dog friendly, and runners aged between 10 and 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Finishers receive a medal, while proceeds from the event support charitable causes, adding a fundraising purpose to this distinctive North East running event.
