Leeds Country Way Winter Ultra South is a long distance trail race organised by Great Owl Running, following the southern section of the Leeds Country Way around Leeds, West Yorkshire. Starting in Garforth and finishing in Greengates, the route takes runners through rural villages, woodland and open countryside.
The point to point course covers approximately 58K, with around 800 metres of ascent across footpaths, bridleways, countryside tracks and short road sections. Winter conditions can make the terrain more demanding, while the rolling route provides a varied endurance challenge. Runners must navigate using GPX files or maps, supported by existing Leeds Country Way markers.
The event offers a challenging winter ultra with staffed checkpoints, refreshments and live GPS tracking. Bag transfers, hot food at the finish and a wooden finisher medal add to the experience, while runners can also complete the northern section the following day to cover the full Leeds Country Way circuit.
