The Lanzarote International Marathon takes place along the island's eastern coastline in the Canary Islands, Spain. The event attracts runners from around the world to experience Lanzarote's coastal scenery, volcanic landscapes and mild winter climate, with all three main distances finishing in Costa Teguise.
Runners can choose between the 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon, each following a coastal road route with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The marathon starts in Costa Teguise, the half marathon in Puerto del Carmen and the 10K in Arrecife. The routes pass through several coastal communities, with changes in elevation adding variety to the running experience.
The event includes chip timing, refreshment stations, medical support and finisher medals. Transport is available to the Half Marathon and 10K start locations, while a race expo, live music and post race celebrations contribute to the atmosphere. Children's races and a festive 5K also form part of the wider event programme.
