The PFW Running Lancashire Loop Trail Run is a multi distance trail event based near the Village Hotel in Blackpool, with 10K, half marathon, marathon and ultra options. The route explores the greener side of the area, passing close to Marton Mere Nature Reserve, Herons Reach Golf Course and Blackpool Zoo, with views towards Blackpool Tower and Stanley Park.
Runners follow an undulating 10K loop primarily using trail paths through the country park, with a short section on pavement. The 10K completes one loop, while the longer distances build on the same course, with the half marathon and marathon including short out and back sections and the ultra completing five loops. This format gives runners regular access to event support while still providing a varied trail challenge.
The event is held under UK Athletics rules and provides aid with sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial and cola to keep runners fuelled around the course. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post race goodies, with the range of distances making the event suitable for runners stepping up to longer trail races as well as experienced marathon and ultra runners.
