Junior Proms Dash 3K Winter Series gives young runners aged nine and over the opportunity to compete on a measured course along Aberdeen Beach promenade.
The flat 3K course provides an accessible introduction to competitive running, although exposed coastal conditions can make racing challenging when winds are strong. The races are promoted under Scottish Athletics rules, with the course measured using a Jones Counter.
The winter series consists of six races between October and March, with participants entering each race separately and retaining the same race number throughout. The accumulated times from three races count towards the overall series standings, with prizes awarded across different categories.
The event welcomes young runners of all abilities, with profits supporting Abernecessities, a charity helping disadvantaged children and families in north east Scotland.
