Rare trail treat at Run Upcote Autumn 5 Miler

Blaze the trails this autumn with Run Upcote

Visually appealing race returns for the third year.

We are down on the farm this Sunday (2 October) for the Run Upcote Autumn Trail Race and a 5 mile course which will delight everyone taking part. This is a rare opportunity to run on private land and be one of the lucky few to go home with a pair of new trail shoes.

Upcote Farm in Cheltenham is advertised as the best place to escape the stresses and strains of everyday life whilst appreciating the beauty of the Cotswolds. A working farm that provides glamping facilities and hosts the 2000 Trees music festival, it is an ideal venue for a running event due to the location and varied route that shows off this beautiful part of the country.

Numbers are limited to 300 who are in for a treat at this race. Starting at 10am they follow an off-road course which has a bit of everything in terms of terrain - fields, forest paths, bridleway and tracks. There are climbs as might be expected and flowing descents where runners can weave their way in and out of the trees but best of all are the stunning views.

A few minor changes have been made to the course that are designed to enhance it without spoiling the experience. A little less less elevation but still as safe and attractive as before.

There are wooden shields as prizes for the top three men and women, first junior male and female and age category winners; medals for all finishers.

In addition to this, Salomon has donated four pairs of their new Speedcross 6 trail shoes to be given away (check out runABC's recent review here). The organiser will select four finish positions at random and present the recipients with a pair of shoes.

The weather is looking sunny and dry for Sunday and the start of a new month. Good luck to all!
