The Isle of Wight Fell Series opens with two races in Ventnor on Saturday, beginning with the 3.8K St Boniface Fell before the 12K Ventnor Horseshoe later in the day. Both form part of the annual series organised by Ryde Harriers in association with Ventnor Fell Running Association.
Runners face demanding fell terrain and substantial climbing, with the 3.8K St Boniface Fell packing 235m of ascent into its short course. The longer 12K Ventnor Horseshoe provides a tougher challenge with 443m of ascent and a rewarding test of fell running ability.
Run under Fell Runners Association rules, the Isle of Wight Fell Series brings together three distinctive races across the weekend and incorporates the SEAA Fell Running Championships. The Saturday races provide two contrasting challenges before the series concludes with the Wroxall Round on Sunday.
