Ilkley Skyline is a challenging 35K fell race starting and finishing at The Hermit Inn in Burley Woodhead. The loop traverses Beamsley Beacon, Round Hill, Burley Moor, Ilkley Moor and Rombalds Moor, covering at least eight moors on a route that is predominantly fell and field running with only short road sections. A 21K point to point option follows the second half of the course from Addingham to the finish.
Organised by Great Owl Running, the event follows an unmarked route requiring runners to navigate using a GPX file or map. Aid stations at Addingham and Timble, additional checkpoints and runner transport for the 21K event provide support throughout the day while maintaining the challenge of classic fell running.
Ilkley Skyline is a demanding navigation based fell race that rewards runners with expansive Yorkshire moorland scenery, varied terrain and one of the region's most established long distance hill running routes.
