Ilkley Skyline is a fell running event organised by Great Owl Running, offering 35K and 21K distances across the moors surrounding Ilkley in West Yorkshire. The longer route starts and finishes at The Hermit Inn in Burley Woodhead, crossing Beamsley Beacon, Round Hill, Burley Moor and Rombalds Moor.
The 35K course features approximately 910 metres of ascent across rugged moorland, fields and short road sections. The 21K follows the latter part of the route from Addingham to The Hermit. Both races are unmarked and require runners to navigate using a map or GPX file, with checkpoints and aid stations providing support along the way.
Based on a longstanding fell running challenge, Ilkley Skyline combines demanding climbs with expansive Yorkshire moorland views. Transport to the shorter race start and a welcoming atmosphere add to an event suited to runners seeking a challenging long distance fell running experience.
