The Ilam 3 Peaks is a classic 4 mile fell race in the Peak District, forming the opening event of the Limestone Race Series and featuring around 520m of ascent across a compact but demanding course.
Runners follow a fully marked loop that begins with a steep climb up Bunster Hill before taking on three summits, a river crossing and faster sections of fell running between the climbs. The varied route packs significant ascent into its 4 mile distance and is held under Fell Runners Association rules.
Registration is based at Ilam Primary School, with the race taking place among the hills surrounding Ilam and close to Dovedale. Its mixture of sharp climbing, technical fell terrain and quicker runnable sections creates a distinctive short distance challenge.
