Hyde Park Harriers Summer Mile

The Hyde Park Harriers Summer Mile is a popular evening of one mile racing on the tarmac paths of Woodhouse Moor in Leeds. Designed to welcome runners of all abilities, the event uses seeded heats based on predicted finish times, creating competitive races throughout the evening and giving every participant the chance to run alongside athletes of a similar standard.

The flat two lap course offers excellent conditions for runners chasing a mile PB, while the unique heat format creates a lively atmosphere with spectators and competitors supporting each race. From first time milers to experienced club runners, the event provides an accessible opportunity to test speed over the classic distance.

Organised by Hyde Park Harriers, the Summer Mile is also part of the club's Summer League programme. With chip timing, graded finisher medals and a strong community atmosphere, it has become one of the best known one mile races in Yorkshire.
