The Holme Pierrepont Grand Prix Race 1 opens the annual Holme Pierrepont Grand Prix Series with a fast evening 5K on Nottingham's Victoria Embankment. The first race in the four event summer series, it welcomes runners of all abilities to a friendly, professionally organised competition held over two weeks.

The largely flat, officially measured 5K follows tarmac paths alongside the River Trent, with just a short section on grass. Its fast profile makes it popular with runners chasing a personal best, while the welcoming atmosphere and excellent support also appeal to those taking their first steps into club racing.

With chip timing, live results, enthusiastic marshals and individual and series competitions, Race 1 provides the ideal start to the Holme Pierrepont Grand Prix Series. Runners can compete in this standalone event or continue through the remaining races to challenge for overall series honours.
