The Heart of Granite is a demanding hill race held in the Galloway hills, starting from Caldons Campsite in Glen Trool.
The route covers approximately 20 miles with over 1800 metres of climb, taking runners across rugged and remote terrain. The course includes steep ascents, technical sections and exposed ground, requiring strong hill running experience and navigation skills.
Run under Scottish Hill Runners rules, the event is suited to experienced fell runners who are confident in mountain environments. An early start option is available alongside the main mass start, allowing runners to manage the challenge based on ability.
The course showcases some of the most dramatic landscapes in southern Scotland, combining physical challenge with a true sense of adventure.
A tough and rewarding event that tests endurance, navigation and resilience in a classic hill running setting.
