The Haven House Mud Run is a family friendly charity obstacle event at Nuclear Races in Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood. Participants can tackle a 5K course featuring 17 obstacles or a shorter 1.5K route with 12 obstacles, with both distances designed around getting muddy and having fun.
Runners can run, jog or walk the course, making this a relaxed alternative to a traditional timed race. There is no chip timing, with the emphasis instead on teamwork and completing the muddy obstacles together. The 5K is open to ages seven and over, while the 1.5K is suitable for ages four and over, with under 14s accompanied by an adult.
Taking part supports Haven House Children's Hospice and its care for seriously ill children and their families. Participants receive a Haven House T-shirt and finisher's medal, with facilities including a free bag drop, outdoor wash-down shower and heated changing area available at the event.
