Race 2 of the Harrock Hill Series returns to the countryside around Parbold and Harrock Hill for another evening of challenging off road racing. Organised by Newburgh Nomads, the four race summer series has become a popular fixture for trail runners, combining competitive racing with a friendly atmosphere and scenic rural surroundings.
The 5.2 mile course is around 90 per cent off road, following tracks, fields and public rights of way through the Lancashire countryside. With around 265 metres of climbing, the route features two significant ascents that provide a testing but rewarding challenge for runners of all abilities.
As the second event in the series, runners have another opportunity to improve their standings, with the best three results from the four races counting towards the overall series prizes. Known for strong fields, enthusiastic support and its distinctive post race atmosphere, Harrock Hill continues to be one of the region's most popular summer trail series.Â
