The Hambledon Hilly is a trail running event based at Hambledon Vineyard in the South Downs National Park. With distances from family friendly runs to a longer trail challenge, every route starts and finishes within the vineyard estate and explores the surrounding Hampshire countryside.
Runners can choose from 5K, 10K and 20K routes. The 5K and 10K combine beautiful trails with quiet country lanes and pass through Hambledon village before returning through the vineyard estate. The 20K is designed as a more demanding, self sufficient trail challenge, with sparse course markings and runners responsible for navigating the route using a watch or phone and carrying the required kit.
The event also includes 1K and 2K races contained within the vineyard estate, making it suitable for younger runners and families. All races are chip timed, with the race village providing food and drink in the grounds of Hambledon Vineyard. The event supports Brain Tumour Research and Hambledon Primary School, adding a community and fundraising focus to a scenic day of trail running.
