The Hallam Chase is a historic fell race in Sheffield and is recognised as the oldest continuously run fell race in the world, with origins dating back to 1862. Organised by Hallamshire Harriers, the race starts from Hallam Cricket Club and follows an out and back route through the Rivelin Valley towards Stannington.
Covering approximately 3.5 miles with around 260 metres of climbing, the course features steep ascents, fast descents, grassy paths and road crossings that create a demanding short fell race challenge. The event uses a traditional handicap format, helping produce a close and competitive finish with a strong local atmosphere and deep connection to Sheffield running history.
