We are delighted to announce the return of the Fyvie Castle 5K. This popular 5K has taken a break for a few years and is now back and bigger than ever. Turriff Running Club will be bringing their race day magic touch to the event which will raise funds for both TRC and Fyvie Primary School Parent Council.
We will have a 800m trail fun run for all (under 5s strictly must be accompanied). A 1600m trail run for primary school to 14 years and a 5k multi terrain run for over 14s. The 5k will both be held in conjunction with Scottish Athletics rules.
There will be finishers medals in all races, first boy and first girl prizes in the 800m and 1600m and 1st, 2nd, 3rd male and female in the 5k.
Fyvie castle will be selling tea, coffee and bacon rolls in addition to their usual offerings from the tea room and ice creams from the shop. The parent council will be selling candy floss and sweetie cones to raise money.
Registration in the racquet courts from 9am. 800m race will start at 10:15 and the 1600m will be at 10:30. Prize giving for both will be around 10:45. The 5K will start at 11am (or after the prizegiving- but please be ready for 11am).
Please follow castle parking instructions on the day. The course will be a mix of trail, path and tarmac. Please be aware of farm traffic and other users of the national trust property including dog walkers. There will be a small out and back section – please respect other runners and ensure an enjoyable race for all. As will Scottish Athletics rules, headphones will not be permitted. Swaps must be confirmed with Turriff Running Club and you must not run under another person’s number.
