The Freckleton Half Marathon is one of the most established events in British road running and is recognised as the oldest half marathon in the UK. First staged in 1965, the race has built a strong reputation for its welcoming atmosphere, rich heritage and loyal following among runners from across the country.

Starting and finishing at Bush Lane Playing Fields in Freckleton, the 13.1 mile road course takes runners through the picturesque Lancashire countryside. The route combines rural scenery with a supportive local atmosphere, creating an enjoyable challenge for both experienced half marathon runners and those taking on the distance for the first time.

Organised by Fylde Coast Runners on behalf of the Freckleton Club Day Sports Committee, the event continues to attract runners looking to be part of a race with genuine history. Its combination of tradition, community support and scenic Lancashire roads makes the Freckleton Half Marathon a standout fixture in the UK running calendar.
