The Foxton Hound Ultra offers 50K and 100K distance options, starting and finishing at Winwick Hall Estate in Northamptonshire.
Both routes follow sections of the Harborough Round, taking runners through quiet countryside, farmland and woodland across Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. The course passes a number of notable landmarks including Foxton Locks and the Naseby battlefield, adding interest to the journey.
The terrain is varied with a mix of trails and rural paths, including some elevation, balanced by long runnable sections. The event is suitable for experienced ultra runners as well as those stepping up to longer distances for the first time.
Runners are supported by regular checkpoints providing food and drink, along with first aid cover throughout. The routes require some self navigation, with GPX files provided and key sections marked on the course.
