The Forest of Dean Autumn Half Marathon is a scenic trail race starting and finishing at Speech House in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Organised by the Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean, the event follows a dedicated woodland course with no road crossings.
Runners tackle an officially measured Half Marathon entirely on waymarked forest trails, following generally well maintained tracks with some short gravel sections. The autumn course is hillier than the route used for the spring event, adding several climbing challenges while taking runners beneath the forest canopy on a fully signed and marshalled route.
Water stations are positioned at approximately 5K intervals, with further drinks available at the finish. The event uses both gun and chip timing, and every finisher receives a medal after completing the challenging forest course.
