The Ennerdale Horseshoe is one of the classic long distance fell races in the Lake District. Covering 37K with 2,290 metres of ascent, the route forms a demanding circuit around Ennerdale, linking a series of major summits including Great Borne, Red Pike, Green Gable, Kirk Fell, Pillar, Haycock and Crag Fell.
Starting and finishing near Ennerdale Bridge, the race combines steep climbs, technical descents and remote mountain terrain that require strong fell running and navigation skills. Renowned as one of the toughest challenges in the fell running calendar, it offers a true test of endurance in one of the most rugged and spectacular areas of the Lake District.
