Get ready for a high-voltage running adventure at Electric Avenue, a unique electricity-themed event set in the beautiful surroundings of Ringwood Forest in Dorset. Organised by Long Player Running, this flexible challenge welcomes runners of all abilities, from those tackling a shorter trail distance to experienced endurance athletes aiming for marathon or ultra-marathon distances. With a fun theme and the freedom to choose how far to run, participants can enjoy the experience at their own pace.
Starting at The Chase in Verwood, the route takes runners along the aptly named Electric Avenue, passing an impressive line of electricity pylons before heading onto smaller trails through peaceful pine plantations and colourful heathland. Each out-and-back lap measures approximately 7.1K, with gentle undulations and around 125ft of elevation gain. Participants can complete as many laps as they wish within the seven-hour time limit, enjoying a mixture of firm forest tracks and scenic woodland surroundings.
With its relaxed atmosphere, flexible start times and playful electricity-inspired theme, Electric Avenue offers an enjoyable alternative to traditional races. A well-stocked aid station provides drinks and sweet and savoury refreshments between laps, giving runners the opportunity to refuel and recharge before continuing. Whether completing a single circuit, tackling a marathon or powering towards an ultra-distance milestone, this is a running challenge guaranteed to generate plenty of energy.
