The Eildon Three Hill Race is one of Scotland's most established hill running events, with the 2026 edition marking its 65th running. Starting and finishing in Gibson Park, Melrose, the race is renowned for its challenging route and spectacular setting in the Scottish Borders.
Covering 7.2K with 510 metres of ascent, the course traverses all three of the distinctive Eildon Hills that dominate the skyline above Melrose. The demanding climbs, fast descents and varied trail terrain create a true hill running challenge, rewarding both strength and technical ability.
Fully marked and supported by marshals and the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team, the race attracts a mix of experienced hill runners and those looking to test themselves on one of Scotland's most iconic short hill race routes. The combination of history, scenery and challenge has made the Eildon Three Hill Race a favourite on the Scottish hill running calendar.
