Eastbourne 5K is a flat and fast seafront road race organised by Eastbourne Runs, starting and finishing at the Holywell Tea Chalet.
The out-and-back course heads east along the lower promenade, passing through the Bandstand and continuing beyond Eastbourne Pier. Runners turn opposite Gelato Famoso Café before retracing the same route west to the finish at Holywell. With just 17 metres of ascent reported for the course, the race offers excellent potential for fast times and personal bests.
The race is chip timed, with the timing chip incorporated into the race number, and is RunBritain approved. All finishers receive a medal, with prizes for the leading male and female runners and age-category winners. A separate Junior 1 Mile takes place before the 5K. The 2026 race sold out in advance, with the organiser operating a cancellation list.
