Doko Challenge South

The Doko Challenge South takes place on Wimbledon Common, offering a distinctive 5K cross country challenge inspired by the Gurkha recruitment process. Participants complete the course carrying a traditional Nepali Doko basket, choosing between 5kg, 10kg or 15kg loads.

Starting from Richardson Evans Memorial Playing Fields, the route follows cross country trails and open common land across Wimbledon Common. Runners, joggers and walkers can all take part, testing themselves on a course based on one of the most recognised elements of Gurkha selection.

Organised by the Gurkha Welfare Trust, the event combines cross country running with a unique endurance challenge, giving participants the opportunity to experience a demanding but rewarding 5K inspired by the traditions of the Gurkhas.
