The Dartmoor Volcano Race is a challenging 10.5 mile hill race across the Southern Moor of Dartmoor National Park. Starting and finishing in Scoriton, the route explores open moorland and reaches the high points of Pupers Hill, Snowdon and Ryders Hill.
Runners tackle more than 550m of ascent on a demanding Dartmoor course featuring three river crossings, boggy ground, a clapper bridge and the distinctive Red Lake Volcano. The fully marked and marshalled route includes a long uphill start before an extended descent towards the finish.
This established Dartmoor running event is suited to runners looking for a tough off road challenge with extensive moorland views, steep climbs and varied natural terrain. An aid station provides refreshments on the course and all finishers receive a bespoke medal.
