action from the amazingly scenic Corrieyairack Challenge

Corrieyairack Challenge

Scotland’s toughest mountain duathlon - the Corrieyairack Challenge - demands respect and a special place in your heart. Follow in the footsteps of Bonnie Prince Charlie over Scotland’s highest mountain road (2526ft) on Saturday 7 July. General Wade’s historic mountain pass was built by hand in 1731 and successfully defended by Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745.

You can choose to walk, walk-cycle, run-cycle or mountain bike around the course, which includes an 11.5-mile hill section from Culachy to Melgarve via the Corrieyairack Pass, and a 38.5-mile road section from Melgarve to Badaguish via Laggan, Kingussie and Insh. Those taking part will also get free weekend camping and showers at Badaguish.

Organisers say: “Enjoy the history, feel great and help raise funds for people with a disability to enjoy an outdoor holiday at Badaguish Cairngorm Outdoor Centre.”

Entries are by single competitor - if you want to form a team please indicate on your entry by stating your team name or join an existing team.

Run – Walk – Cycle. You choose!
