The Commonweal 5 is a well established 5 mile race held in Old Town, Swindon. Organised by volunteers from the Commonweal School PTA, the route starts and finishes on the school playing field before descending onto footpaths, trails and quiet roads through the Wichelstowe area and along the Old Town Railway Path.
The course combines flat runnable sections beside the lakes and canal with a steady climb back up to Old Town in the closing stages. Known for its friendly atmosphere and scenic mixed terrain route, the race attracts runners of all abilities from recreational runners to local club athletes.
