A long established 10k race run mainly on flat open footpaths and cycle tracks to the south of Colchester.

The race starts on the level Circular Road North and continues on pavements and tracks around the garrison area. Most of the course is level, with some gentle slopes near the finish. There are two intermediate water stations. Road crossings are properly marshalled by volunteers or Council staff. The finish is on the running track.
